Olivia Rodriguez Calderon, a former School No. 4 parent, led the dancing. Organized by the school’s Hispanic Heritage Month Committee and sponsored by LEA and NJEA FAST, the evening brought together food, fitness and opportunities for families to celebrate their roots.
The creativity extended beyond the dance floor. Students made flags representing their heritage, designed hand fans and colored pages featuring influential Hispanic figures while learning about their contributions.
Families also posed against a balloon-decorated Hispanic Heritage Month backdrop and enjoyed a photo display featuring a mariachi singer and a dancer in a colorful dress.
The gathering was part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations across Linden Public Schools, bringing students and families together through shared traditions and hands-on activities.
